[:] The Holy Bible
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
[:] The One True God
There is only one living and true God, an intelligent, spiritual and personal Being; the creator, redeemer, preserver and ruler of all things, having in and of Himself all perfections, and being infinite in them. To Him all creatures owe the highest love, reverence and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
[:] The Trinity
God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; each having distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being. God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. Through illumination He enables man to understand truth.
[:] Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin; He is the divinely appointed mediator between God and man. Having taken upon Himself human nature, yet without sin, He perfectly fulfilled the law, suffered and died upon the cross for the salvation of all sinners. He was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended to His Father, at whose right hand He ever lives to make intercession for His people. He is the only mediator, the Prophet, Priest and King of the Church, and sovereign of the universe.
[:] Mankind
God originally created man in His image and innocent of sin; but through the temptation of Satan, man transgressed the command of God, by his free choice, and fell from his original, intended state of creation; whereby he inherits a corrupt nature opposed to God because of the self. Therefore, as soon as one is capable of moral action, they become transgressors and are under condemnation. Only the Grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God.
[:] The Church
The New Testament church is the Body of Christ and is not a building or institution. The universal Church refers to all believers throughout the ages. The local Church refers to a group of baptized believers who worship together, serve together, teach the Word of God, are united together through covenant, share their lives together, and carry out the mission of Jesus to change the world. Each local New Testament church is autonomous and subject to Christ as Head of the church. The church is led by biblically-defined pastors whom God has called and gifted to shepherd and equip the church for the work of ministry.
[:] Salvation
Salvation is brought about by a regeneration, or changing of the heart, wrought by the Holy Spirit, and is free to all who desire and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for all believers. It begins with repentance and confession of sin whereby the individual recognizes his/her sin and makes a conscious decision to turn away from and follow God in faith. Saving faith is the belief on God’s authority, of whatsoever is revealed in His Word concerning Christ; accepting Him alone for forgiveness of sins, regeneration of heart, and eternal life |
